Dec 27-Jan 3
Norwegian Escape
We boarded the ship and explored: lunch service, mini golf, bocce
Dinner all together first night with gift exchange.
Next day at sea we enjoyed the art auction, comedy show, deck 8…
and escape room, Bamboozled!
Specialty dinner
Meanwhile the kids hung out together and checked out the kids clubs
First port: Costa Maya, MX
There was touristy shopping and a party pool to enjoy.
Back on the ship, Abby walked the plank! So scary!
The ropes course was grand. I did it twice, the kids more.

Another cruiser stayed late and got this pic |

Dinner in the Manhattan Room was elegant. All the food throughout the ship was delicious. |
The cruising ducks were an ongoing unofficial activity and the girls were all about it. We brought some to hide and our ambition to find. Lydia has a keen eye for this!
2nd port: Harvest Caye, Belize
This was a well manicured private island
We saw real and fake iguanas
We bought souvenir hats
Nice beach with a fun zip line over the water
Running around the splash pad and dumping buckets was a hit

We connected with a lady who crocheted ducks! |
Dinner and a magic show in the theater
3rd port: Roatan Day!! 🦥🐟🐡🦜 Group excursion!
It’s an island off Honduras
Dream come true-hugging a sloth!Look at that face!
Hanging and grooving
The bird was neat, but I was enamored with the sloths and then distracted by the crazy capuchin on the loose.
And then we entered the monkey cage.
They walked all over us with abandon.
I would not want one for a pet.
A little hiccup getting us on a glass bottom boat tour, but our guide got it all sorted out including stops at a Rum cake factory/store and Mayan Chocolate factory/store.
The rum place had a fantastic view out back!
The Bolgert Cruise Crew!
No snorkel gear or special breathing required-loved it
Eagle ray swung by. Saw a puffer and so much more.
Our cruise director Jack was always dressed sharp and a fantastic host!
Fun day in Roatan! But it’s not over yet…
Because it’s NYE and we’re cruising into the new year!
The ship was abuzz with sparkles, music, balloons, buffets, countdowns.
Choir of Man was the best show
4th and final port: Cozumel, MX
Salsa & Salsa tour for us:
6 different salsas, margaritas
The team captains (Lydia included) demonstrating some Latin moves
And salsa dancing
Ole!
Last day at sea so we’re playing cribbage
Hanging out on deck
In our funniest outfit
Newlywed game, wheel of fortune, deal or no deal, Sing it.
It was a fun-filled easy way to spend the holiday together with a big group of family.

What an awesome week! So many amazing experiences-- although not sure I would have wanted the bird or monkey on my head!
