Lydia had a dirty diaper changed, finished a good feeding, and burped. Ahh. She should be a happy baby, right? Well, she wasn't. She was fussy and the usual comfort measures weren't helping. You know, when I took Lydia to the doctor's office yesterday, she was so calm and quiet in her car carrier, as if she liked it. So hoping for that same peace and quiet, I strapped Lydia into her car carrier. Results not good. Then I tried swinging her back and forth in the carrier to calm her down like I had seen a friend do. This worked pretty well, but my arms started to get tired, and was I supposed to swing all day long? Next, I remembered something I recently read: "Studies show SleepTight works. It's an FDA-approved device that makes the crib feel like an automobile going 55 mph, complete with wind sounds as a soothing accompaniement" (What to Expect). Intriguing, I thought, maybe it's not the snuggle of the car carrier or the motion, but the speed that babies like! But before I jumped on the autobahn, maybe I'd check her diaper. Well wouldn't you know it, but she was wet, and once changed, she was fine.

So in the end, the car carrier wasn't the miracle I had hoped for, but here is a picture of Lydia in it since she is still cute in it.
