Bucky's Wall of Fame

Abigail was selected to be on on "Bucky's Wall of Fame!"
Mrs. Benz recognized that Abby was modeling the BUCKY way in the classroom: B - Be responsible, U - Use manners, C - Communicate respectfully K - Kindness counts, Y - You are valued. We are very proud and will get to take her to the movies with the pass she got.
As I glanced along the wall, I happened to notice another one our of children on the wall! Wow...more pride.

Circus Date

We planned to all go to the Shriner's Circus when it came to town this weekend, but when Abigail got sick, it turned into a Mommy/Daughter date.
Seeing the animals up close.

There was a ton of talent packed into this 3-ring circus!
Lydia liked the tiger tamer and the guys jumping around on the revolving thing.

Love how they hold tails...
Plenty of danger mixed in with silly clown stuff.
5 riders inside the globe of death!
The Spiderman act was really cool too!

Winterfest, Bowling Field Trip & More

Grandma Jan & Grandpa Bruce came up to celebrate the girls' birthday and brought lots of gifts!
We went out for an awesome brunch at Sabrosa's in Bay View.

Then we bundled up and enjoyed Winterfest in Oak Creek!
 Tandem Snowshoeing?

Catching classmate Andrea in matching Elsa hats!
Good thing it wasn't an oddly warm day, because ice activities (mini golf, bag toss, building blocks, dremel-ing your name, sculptures) were the meat and bones of the festivities.

Plus sled dogs and a market and face painting inside.
Later that day after Gma & Gpa left, Lydia read with her big furry pillow,
and Abigail spent some time converting her "movie theater" into an organized room. (Her room got carried away with their imaginations!)

Just a picture of the 3-5 y.o. and 1st-3rd grade Sunday School classes that Lydia & Abigail attend. We are blessed with devoted and caring teachers that enjoy sharing the stories of the Bible and love of Jesus with these kids every week!

I've been helping in Mrs Benz' classroom 1-2 x/month with sharpening pencils, cutting paper shapes, helping the kids with their writing. Abigail always loves to have me there and I get lots of quick hugs. This Wednesday I chaperoned their bowling field trip.
Teagan, Morgan, Abby, Lane 14 :)

There were a lot of kids on the floor a lot of the time...crazy Kindergartners.
Abby's force came from a pushing technique. She had a score of 94! It was a good time. It's so nice to chaperone/help in the classroom because it  makes it easier to understand her school life. With Lydia in 2nd grade, I appreciate being able to drop in the classroom and have her show me her growth binder (BTW-I'm impressed with her goal-setting!).

Snow Day

If you take a girl sledding down a hill,
she's going to want to do it again.
And every time she rides down,
she'll want to in a different position or on a different path.
After a while,
she's bound to make a friend or two.
With more friends and sleds,
she'll want to race them and her family.
After all that, she'll have rosy cheeks,
and want to you to be the troll under the playground bridge and think playgrounds are even more fun in 6 inches of snow,
which will remind her of how much she loves sledding. So you'll climb to the top of the hill one last time,
NO, Just Kidding!
You go home, take off your four pairs of socks, and have a hot drink, of course!

Happy 8th Birthday, Lydia!

To celebrate Lydia's 8th birthday, we went with a Littlest Pet Shop theme (considering we already owned so much of the stuff) and Lydia got to invite 2 friends.

At the treat & snack table, we have: Dog Leashes & Tug Toys (Twizzlers), Mouse Munchies (Cheese-Its), Bear Berries (blueberries), Bunny Food (carrots and celery), Birdie Bites (sunflower & pumpkin seeds), Sea Food (gummy octopus), Doggie Delights (coco puffs), and Monkey Munchies (banana chips)
and a Littlest Pet Shop Birthday Cake with Blythe Baxter standing on top.
Lydia played an integral part in all the party planning from picking out paper products to organizing the activity sheets to drawing out a cake design and picking chocolate (for dirt/earth) to writing the snack labels!

Grown up table with custom LPS centerpiece

Violet, Abby, Lydia, Aaliyah, Quincy, Danielle, Bella
These kids got a little crazy with the snack table :P
We had LPS coloring and activity pages, but mostly they kids played together upstairs and around the piano, and a little hide-and-seek.

Here's a happy people- and animal-loving, curious, amazing, smart '8-is-great!' year-old! Make big wishes and may they all come true!
New favorite activity: walkie talkie-ing to sister at bedtime. New favorite game: UNO!
