Springtime Swingtime

Well when we can't go outside because Spring is playing an aweful joke on us, we can still go to the temperature-controlled Rainbow building and swing like it's really Spring.

Take Me Outside!

Lydia points at what she wants these days. If you follow her hand like an arrow, you'll most often find yourself at the front door. She just loves being outside to feel the wind in her hair, touch and pick the grass, and take in all the sights and sounds.
Look, a school bus!
(poor lamb gets left behind in the grass)

And there it goes...

It's been easy to get some yard work done lately because she'll just sit and look in place while I rake nearby. That would never happen inside if I tried to fold laundry or load the dishwasher.

Chicken Dance

I took out the box of Easter decorations the other day. In it I found some Easter eggs and an Easter basket... and a CRAZY CHICKEN. This thing's eyes bulge out, its wings flap, and it waddles to the obnoxious chicken dance song. You can sense my distaste for it, and in contrast, in the following pictures you'll see Lydia's amazement with it:

"Wowza! Who are you, fantastic noisy creature, you?"

"Hm, I have to touch your fuzzy wing."

"You're so cool! Can I kiss you?"

"Or maybe I'll just get really really close and stare into your googly eyes."

"Holy Chicken Dance, I'm still beside myself with excitement!"

What's Up?

Here's a short list of what Baby has been up to lately.
  1. Crawling under dining room table legs and over chair structure and getting stuck.
  2. Throwing food over the high chair edge.
  3. Listening to music at Barnes & Noble.
  4. Going into fits of giggles when Daddy chases her through the kitchen.
  5. Getting taller. And I intentionally used the word 'getting' because I don't know if she's necessarily 'growing' taller, but she's certainly reaching new heights like the TV buttons and stove knobs.
  6. Hugging her stuffed animals and patting them on their backs.
  7. Talking in her own jargon.
  8. Scribbling with markers on paper, furniture, the wall, her face. Thank goodness they're washable!
