Love to Stand

Lydia is very handsy with my phone. If you call, don't be surprised if you get giggles on the other side.

Standing and cruising along the furniture. She made this look when she heard the mail coming through the slot. Then she got down and crawled over to "sort" through it all.

She's climbing up to Daddy and begging for food. Daddy feeds her.
Am I living in a house or a zoo?

My CUTIE

The other day we got a bin of clothes from Aunt Karla, and in it was this
fleece yellow hat.

Today we went to the Lakeview Museum. Lydia liked one exhibit in particular: the bird exhibit. We were supposed to match each bird with its nest, which was pictured on the tub. Lydia just liked holding them and listening to the realistic sounds they made when squeezed. She would have taken the owl home if she could.

Meet Kinsey!

Ooh! Look at the baby!

So cute. So tiny. So Kinsey.

Lydia's a bit of a ham, but really likes her new little cousin!

Split Ears

So... Lydia will pull up on things. And yes, she'll climb over Mom's and Dad's legs on the floor. But she can't yet climb over a big box, like she thinks she can! She gets stuck and frustrated up on her tip toes with some weight levered on the corner. I'm tempted to help her out with a boost but then she'd just be stuck up on top on her belly...not a much better situation...

Okay, this one's kind of dizzying to look at. But her pigtails are cute, and not something to be taken for granted.

Aw, yes, Lydia likes the security of Mommy's lap. When I'm trying to get work done, she's hanging on my leg wherever I go. When I'm giving her full attention on the ground, she's crawling away and playing freely. I will expect many more swings in her journey towards independence.

And if I were to read Lydia's pigtails here as if they were dog ears, I'd say she's split between being attentive and submissive.

Lydia just snagged a piece of banana off her fork and I caught her with quite a peculiar face :P
