Rocky Mountain National Park

A group visited the park Wednesday after dinner. No reservation required.

We love going into the park. With Lydia's 4th grade pass and tickets we snatched up online 48 hrs prior, we visited on Thursday and Friday.

Alluvial Fan
Chasm Falls
Then we continued on the Old Fall River Road. It's one-way up only and open July-September with hair pin turns.
We were all looking at the herd of Elk. They were so close! Some people further up on the trail were stuck as the Elk were crossing below. Huge racks!

I got the sense I was in the Alps with the snow and view.

Super high at 11,796 ft, but not too chilly. 
Big gift shop sold cans of oxygen.

Horseback Ride

We signed up for the 2 hour Moraine ride on Wednesday that took us trotting into the park! 
This is one of the things the girls were really looking forward to!
