Father's Day

Before we knew it, it was Father's Day! So happy to celebrate the awesome and dedicated father that Ben is!
He's a dad who is always open to fun and games.
A dad who continually inspires us to be better people. He encouraged us to participate in Thrivent & Generosity Feed's event of packing over 12,000 meals for hungry families in Milwaukee in 2 hours. Lydia's job was to measure and poor rice.
Abigail's job was to count 5 groups of 5 and help me pack the up the box.
It was energizing and fun. Poppy the troll and Minnie Mouse even made appearances.
I love that the littlest of helpers could participate and begin to grow their heart for missions.
A dad who never turns down the chance to give a hug. We treated him with an omelet breakfast and gifts.
A dad who likes strawberry picking and not afraid to get a little muddy doing it.

Happy Father's Day, Ben! XOXO

Kick-Off to Summer!

We kicked off summer with some backyard camping on the last day of school.
The girls love setting up their space in the tent.
Lydia wanted to roast sausage links over the bonfire for breakfast.

The first week was packed with hot summer fun.
and time away from school for snuggles, tickles and giggles.

we love Milwaukee in the summertime...there's so much to do!
A trip to the Art Museum.

Jazz in the Park side entertainment!
"Look, Mom!"
BTW-a spot right next to the playground, a glance away, was perfect for allowing Mom & Dad to leisurely enjoy their summer picnic and jazz :)

End of School Year Programs

We haven't been this sad at the end of the school year before. They really loved their teachers (as they really loved all their kids) and a had fantastic year. Both teachers had slideshows that got everyone gushing.

Gone Fishing

Since getting our princess fishing poles Memorial Day Weekend, we've gone fishing twice! Our neighborhood pond is well stocked.
Excited about her Sunfish!
Wanna touch the Large Mouth Bass?!

Fishing can be such a great learning experience in so many ways: patience, fine motor, gross motor! We went to a E. B. Garner Fishing Clinic at the Urban Ecology Center that covered casting & reeling, water safety, knot tying, baiting the hook, fish identification.

Washington Park Lagoon
Lydia caught a bluegill and the clinic hosts went to the trouble of filleting and cooking it up for them to taste their catch--so awesome of them to do that for the kids!
