Milestone

She's rolling from back to front. Yeah!
And now also front to back! I think babies usually roll front to back first, so I guess Lydia just likes doing things in reverse order. We'll see how this plays out in the future. Hm...

Airplane

It's a Bird...

It's a Plane...

It's Lydia!

Grandma Linda was our babysitter while we celebrated our 3rd anniversary in Door County.
She had her up past her bedtime~Grandma's notorious for getting Lydia riled up~but I guess we can let that slide at Grandma's house.

Here Lydia's being silly and sucking on her lower lip.

Lake Michigan

We went to the Sheboygan beach. Yes, the water was freezing cold. No, Lydia did not go in.

She looked out at the crashing waves.

with Daddy.

and wore her sun bonnett.

and took some time to lounge. Lydia's favorite thing to do at the beach, though, had to be sucking on her swimsuit skirt!

HyVee

Among the Peaches We went to the grand opening of a new grocery store in town. I carried Lydia into the store without her car seat but with courage to try sitting her in the front of the cart. Turns out, she was great with it! 'Just put a blanket down and strapped her in. That head and torso control is showing its advantages: she could see all the activity--and believe me there was a lot of activity (a band, workers, shoppers, samples, displays)--exchange smiles with everyone around, and Mom gets more room in the cart. We like grocery shopping! A kind lady even let us ahead of her in line to reduce the chance of Lydia getting cranky with the long wait. Lastly, I was glad to have a bagger, because that's just good service.

Selections

Silly Hat

Haha! She has pigtails!

We grew a sunflower while our baby grew.
Squeal!
Staying at home with Lydia full-time now, I look for baby- and Mommy-friendly activities. On Monday we went to Barnes & Nobles for storytime. Lydia sat in my lap and enjoyed it, and I certainly did too! There was another little girl (3 mo.) named Paisley with her older brother, and another little baby girl and older sister. On Tuesdays, we try to meet with Deanna and her little boy (almost 3) and girl (6 mo).

First Peas

Yum, my first taste of peas! I like this better than cereal, and I can finally wear my Peas bib!

Now gimme that spoon; I can feed myself!

'Didn't say I wasn't going to make a mess...

but I clean up nice ;)

Wedding!

Lydia attended godparents Stacy and Greg's wedding. She rocked her purple bow. She was passed around between friends and family a lot, and was very good with that. During the ceremony, Holly took good care of her; we didn't hear a peep up at the altar; later I heard she was taken to the back of the church. At the reception, Lydia took in all the excitement until just before the fireworks, and stayed asleep till morning.

Lydia with the new Mrs. Fernandez the next day at gift opening!
