To: You ~ Happy Valentine's Day! From: Lydia

 

As Lydia writes her name on a valentine for school, she smiles. Only 32 more to go. The letters of her name look randomly placed, but she wrote them in order, just not in a straight line.

Unrecognizable as her 'Z' is, her 'K' looks perfect. I didn't know she could do that! Her writing development is fascinating me! She seems to always be "scribble writing" using lots of circles, making a list like me, or writing a note to Daddy.

Frozen Birthday Party!

 The morning of the party, Aunt Sarah took Lydia to see The Cat in the Hat at First Stage children's theater. They got back and settled into Frozen: A Tale of Two Sisters.

 It's a birthday party for Lydia & Abigail!

 Lydia placed each pearl candy and snowflake on her cake.

We had fun decorating with snowflakes (big and small cut from paper or made with Popsicle sticks or ornaments) and icy blues (candles, garland, paper chain, ornaments) with a dash of goofy snowmen (pin the nose, Olaf signs) and pretty princesses (giant birthday sign and cake) to go along with our Disney Frozen theme. Themed food included carrot noses, jello ice cubes, snow frosted snacks, and melted Olaf water. 

Can't Wait

 Lydia and Abigail got new beach towels and outfits for their birthdays to use in Florida.

 I think they are doing some crazy dancing because they just can't wait!

I'm Four!

I'm not sure what fingers she's counting on. It's not even the European way. Silly.

Happy 4th Birthday Lydia!

She's smart, she's snugly, she builds forts, she loves wearing pajamas or dresses or just her panties around the house even if I'm wearing three layers. She's kind to her sister, she sings and dances, she makes people smile by just being her, and has lots of people who love her. If you ask her...

January Moments and Milestones

I think it's so cute how Abigail's crossing her feet here.

She gets as much of a thrill out of raiding the library book bag as she does looking at the pictures.

Aaliyah had fun painting at our house and was so kind to allow Lydia to copy her every paint color choice. :)

We said another goodbye to babyhood. The crib transitioned to a toddler bed. This surprisingly made me sad.

In her bed, Abigail has her babies and her blanket. She also enjoys a hood.  Major bonus if her clothes also have pockets, by the way.

Daddy turned 30!

He got to spend his birthday doing one of his favorite things, playing games: Risk with high school friends and new card game at home. Stacy, Greg, Sarah, Matt later joined us for margaritas and taco salad bowls!
