From outdoors to the city.
We drove into Seattle and hopped on the Seattle-Bainbridge Island ferry
(Lydia got an impromptu lesson on unions/strikes/fair wages/'ivory towers')
It was chilly on the deck, but it had good views of the jellyfish, dolphins and skyline.
The weather was cloudy in the morning and sunny in the afternoon.
We got lunch, played an outdoor piano,
salmon mural in Bainbridge
We walked the downtown shops and headed back.
Over at Alki Beach, we had the best fresh fish & chips! (Better than Ivar's ;)
The 1st Starbucks is by the Pier, but here we have the Starbucks Reserve Roastery & Tasting Room
We tasted the whiskey barrel-aged coffee (absolute winner!) and nitro.
Lydia was fascinated by the coffee roasting process they had displayed.
The old style flip message board was also really cool!
So we were caffeinated up and ready to take on the zoo.
We found the troll under the bridge in the Fremont neighborhood.
We found a piece of the Berlin Wall and Geocaching HQ!
Fortunately for us, there was room for us for a tour where we came away with cache hints (gum wall) and inspiration. *Carrot King
Industrial plant turned kiddie play area, Gas Works Park, also has a beautiful lake for recreation and hydroplanes and urban picnic area.
We enjoyed our hotel for 3 nights, Georgetown Inn in artsy Georgetown neighborhood. Delicious bakery in the morning and brownies in the afternoon. The Boots & Hat (Oxbow) Park was just down the street.Starting the day off outside the live KEXP radio studio.
Chihuly moved the field of blown glass into the realm of large-scale structure.
Chihuly Garden and Glass was spectacular.
Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Discovery Center was a short visit.
We spent the afternoon at the Science Center until it closed.
Their concerts in the park is Concert at the Mural :)
Sol performed (sponsored by KEXP)
Time to finally experience that beautiful Jetson-inspiring Space Needle
Windy and 360 degree views
The revolving floor didn't move as fast as the kids thought.

Last Day:
The Pike Place Market was still setting up as we walked through. I didn't know they'd have so many gorgeous bouquets!
The infamous Gum Wall was just around the corner.
Minty, gross, lol
The story goes, it all started when this comedy club put up a ‘no gum’ sign for folks standing in line, and the people responded.
Pike Place Market
Not too much fish throwing, but we did see one fly.
The piers had an Alaskan vibe.
