Happy Baptism Birthday!

March 28th was Lydia's second baptism birthday. We sang "Happy Baptism Birthday," Lydia blew out her baptism candle, and she got a present.
Now that I think about it, I think "He Who Began a Good Work in You" would be a better song to sing than Happy Birthday...so maybe next year.

1 Month Old

I am one month old and weigh nine whole pounds!

I love to snuggle with Mommy (and Daddy) and coo when I'm happy.

I can hold my head up pretty well and turn it from side to side.

At 20.5 inches long, I'm nothing short of a real gem.

I'm still just a little girl in a big chair with lots of growing to do.

These Two...

just crack me up!


I leave them alone to bond, and Look! Lydia put a bow in Abigail's hair.

Then in another moment, Lydia's grabbing the bunny ears and sticking them on Abigail's head.

Haha, it's actually cute!

Aw, they just love each other so much already.
Except does it look to you like Abigail is trying to get away?

Ah, Mom, did you say that this crazy girl is my sister??

Kiss Me, I'm Cute

We went to Grandma Jan and Grandpa Bruce's on St Patrick's Day. Lydia's shirt from Aunt Karla read, "Kiss Me I'm Cute," and it turns out from Ben's recent genealogy research, that she's also part Irish!Grandma hosted a tea party for all the girls. Lydia was a perfect little lady.

Abigail showed her Irish spirit by sporting a few shamrocks and a small smile.

The Bulls were in town from TN for the week. So from left to right we have: Emily who just won't smile for a camera, pleasant Kailyn nicely cradling Abigail, Lydia angry that she's being told to sit, Jacob sharing pointers with Kinsey (cute!), Hailey being a good sport waiting to hit the water, and dear Nathan with perfect posture.

Today all the green got washed out in the bath. Abigail's cord hung on till day 11, so this was only her 2nd bath. Lydia helped wash with the washcloth; she's been a great big sister. She's so cute, don't you want to kiss her?

Miss Smiley

Miss Smiley is two weeks old. She has surpassed her birth weight by nearly one pound. Today she's 7 pounds, 8 ounces and 19 1/2 inches long! Keep on growing, Baby!

Incessant Talking & Little Squeaks

A short list of what comes out of the mouth of Lydia:

Bug! (We see ladybugs around the house. Daddy releases them outside, but then she misses them.)
Dora! (Who doesn't love Dora?)
Sit! (When she wants you to play with her.)
Pull my hand! (She takes you by the hand and leads.)
I bump my head. (Kisses need to be delivered to the site pronto.)
Bounce! (A good workout of lifting her up and down)
I poopy. (Yup)
Run. (Your signal to go chase her around the dining room table.)
See that. (She found another piece of fuzz.)
Mommy & Daddy (Used interchangeably)
I drop. (Oops.)
This way. (She could direct traffic.)
I want this. (sometimes whiny, sometimes not)

And what do we hear from the newest member of the family? Mere pipsqueaks. Good thing she's not two for another two years ;)
