Back to School

It's the first day back to school since Spring Break and somehow they're in 5th and 3rd grades!!

"Jitter Juice" the night before to chase the butterflies away

TOGETHER WE SHINE

I wasn't going to believe it till it happened, but the girls "R BACK" in school with face masks, desk shields and lots of sanitizer. Abby said it was weird. I don't think Lydia minds the changes as much, except for having to carry supplies back and forth daily so crews can sanitize. 30% of students (including Lydia's 2 friends) opted to at least start off virtually on CFISD Connect

I just LOVE this self portrait from the first day

Lydia quickly hit it off with Halle in her class :)

We are ready for a good year no matter what!

Dwindling Summer

As the last weeks of summer slowly passed, we had: a pleasant evening trip to the community pool

A dressy dress up day
(where they wore their finest dress & shoes and took pictures like it was prom or something)

a Mommy-Daughter date to Orange Leaf
(loaded up on those boba balls)

Weekly gymnastics (firecrackers) classs
(some days more reluctantly than others)

a Mommy-Daughter date to playground, library pick up (more Jack Russel books) and shopping

discovered a new park with a big splash pad! (Zube Park)
(they loved this "hut")

and we reconnected with friends!

August Visit to Midwest-part 2

We got to Grandma Jan's on Sunday, and we had Jacob and Nathan there Monday morning to do tie dye!!

playing in the river
then they got to do it again with Kinsey and Kayla!

The girls got a new back to school outfit with Grandma!
while we got away at a B & B in Sheffield, IL

Starved Rock was closed due to storms, but we had fun hitting some balls together.

This was not the best restaurant, but Spoons in Princeton, IL was (watermelon brueschetta!)

Finally, Dan & Kaitlyn had us over to their new house!

Bicycling in Port Byron :)

A refreshingly good time catching up with family!

August Visit to Midwest-part 1

We flew up to Midway Friday morning and went to Sarah's for lunch. Matt planned a long lunch break to join us.

Levi was so cute with his motorcar

loving on Naomi

a few weeks later...she's walking!

Then we went to Stacy's to stay 2 nights and they immediately showed off their garden.

When will they stop liking slime?!

Aaliyah, Violet & Quincy have been rollerblading all summer and they kindly taught Lydia and Abigail how to get started.
Trampoline...OMG...Trampoline!

Quincy pulls his big sisters!
