Dying Easter Eggs

We set off to find 30 golden eggs, one in each section of the neighborhood. We started off on bike and came outside just in time to see the Easter bunny making rounds!

This is what the golden eggs looked like.

Look, there's the Easter Bunny again! Then we spent 2 hours in the car to find the rest. It was a great way to get familiar with the entire neighborhood, a welcome activity, and a mission we just had to complete as we got near the end! Not to mention there was PRIZE if we found them all!!

On Sunday morning we started off with an Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt

The Easter hunt was over, but Jesus' love never ends. Their Easter baskets were in the stair closet.

Some of us got dressed up to watch Easter service via YouTube on TV. I love that they still do a children's message!

We Zoomed our Easter brunch/dinner with Sarah, Stacy, Mom & fams at noon.

It was a beautiful day to swim with their new holographic glitter tubes!

We FaceTimed with Jan and called more family. :)


Since then, the girls have decorated this Bunny Cake

and I experimented with Whipped Coffee because the cool kids on Instagram are doing it. I have not joined Insta though...

Family BINGO night with an awesome PRIZE TABLE turned Dad into a balloon artist!

It makes me happy to see my girls still like wearing cute matching pajamas.

And there's nothing like the joy of giving Dad a BIG WET HUG after running through the sprinklers.

Our neighborhood did something cool: Porch Family Portraits to capture this moment in history.

Spring Break 2.0 and Learn at Home x 2 weeks

So after Spring Break, we had Spring Break 2.0

We all scrambled to come to terms with what’s happening in the world and our community. We took stock of what we had in our homes and fridges and ventured out at a minimum, and got overwhelmed with “resources” and online everything.
In the beginning we had the enthusiasm to be all sorts of creative in lots of ways. Here’s a few snapshots.

Then the school launched “Learn at Home.” Or rather, learning curve at home! This is crisis schooling, not home schooling. Home schooling is a choice. My thoughts and feelings: Mostly, it’s confusing because the message from the district changes weekly and figuring everything out on and through technology sucks. 2nd grade teacher hasn’t been pushing the curriculum, just wants us to be happy and healthy, but 4th grade teacher is expecting more. The kids are used to using some of the online resources at school, but it’s hard to motivate them when there’s no questions from the teacher or a test. But wait, they’re going to start taking grades this week... I don’t know how... We’re trying to stay engaged and always learning, but when both parents are working... 🙄
